SOSreach™ : An Outreach Program of the Institute for Sustainable Communication (ISC)

There has never been a greater need for young people to be Students of Sustainability. We live in an age confronted by unprecedented levels of poverty, the mismanagement of natural resources overpopulation, conflict and the threat of climate change. However, we are also blessed to live in an age where digital information travels at the speed of light, and social interaction extends beyond geopolitical boundaries enabling new ways to communicate, learn and collaborate.

SOSreach is a program designed to reach out to youth and provide them with opportunities to address these challenges through the power of learning and collaboration enabled by social media. Social media is the rampart that bridges sustainability -a lens through which we see the world and focus our actions. Simply put, sustainability is a way of thinking and living through the integration of social, economic and environmental responsibility.

The Motto of SOSreach is: “Live Sustainably, Live Well" 

SOSreach seeks to inform young people about the concept of sustainability and its benefits by:

• Engaging young adults through positive, action-oriented collaborative campaigns
• Enabling their growth and development through mentoring, fellowship and scholarships
• Employing the power of pop culture and new media to communicate and motivate them
• Empowering young adults to think and act in sustainable ways
• Encouraging young adults to find their voice and change the world for the better!

We invite luminary companies, executives and business leaders to demonstrate leadership by supporting our activities and scholarship initiatives dedicated to developing next generation of leaders.
